This forklift diorama was commissioned by our client to show appreciation to a sales team for their efforts. The diorama will reside in the lobby of a dealership and serve as a reminder of past accomplishments, as well as serve as a sales tool for future customers.

The diorama sits in a plywood case, with client supplied die-cast forklift models, an off-the-shelf rail car and 1:24 scale railroad people. The rest of the display was built from scratch using mainly laser cut plastic and metal. The crates and boxes were hand fabricated from scaled plywood.

When designing the forklift diorama, it was not necessary to create a realistic scene. The goal was to include as many of the client’s products as possible, alongside the different scenarios they could be used in. The particular scale was chosen to coordinate with off-the-shelf products to keep the costs of the project down. When everything does not have to be made from scratch, the diorama can be created more efficiently and economically.

This forklift diorama turned out to be an effective sales tool as well as a gift to acknowledge a job well done.
