Railroad Tank Car Models

These railroad tank car models are 5 feet long each. They were built for training purposes. Instead of safety training in the field, our client can now use these models in a classroom setting for convenience.

One model is a pressure tank and the other model is a general purpose tank. Ready made 8th scale trucks and tanks were used for the basis of the models. KiwiMill then added hand-built details like signage, handles, ladders, plumbing, switches, lids/manholes that opened and closed, and railings. A cutaway section was added to show addition piping in the interior.

The railroad tank car models were built without drawings and relied heavily on our model making team's own research. Sometimes a project can be completed with little client input if the information for the build is readily available by public research.
